Fresh call on mercy killings
Campaigners for voluntary euthanasia in Guernsey are making fresh calls for support for their cause.

The Choice with Dignity campaign in the Bailiwick is spearheaded by Guernsey woman Anne Crocker who watched her father suffer years of pain towards the end of his life.

She feels strongly that he should have been given the right to choose how and when to die.

Deputy Pat Mellor led a successful requete in the States at the end of last year, and a working party was set up to investigate euthanasia.

Opponents of doctor assisted death are urging islanders to reject any such move.
