Europe faces prolonged air chaos

Flights across Europe will remain suspended after a huge cloud of drifting ash was ejected from a volcano in Iceland.

A limited number of flights have resumed but many airports in France and Germany are closed and services have been stopped in Denmark, Austria and Poland.

Hundreds of thousands of passengers have faced almost complete disruption after airspaces were completely closed and it is thought the restrictions could continue into the weekend.
