The eight leading industrial nations have agreed a $20bn (£12bn) commitment to help poorer nations boost food supplies at the G8 summit in Italy.
Earlier the actor George Clooney and France's First Lady Carla Bruni visited the earthquake hit Italian town L'Aquila.
