Labour MEP backs Gordon Brown

Labour's leader in the European Parliament, MEP Glenis Willmott, has said her party suffered in the European elections because of the domestic expenses scandal - but that Gordon Brown should remain as the UK prime minister.

Labour was beaten into third place behind the Conservatives and UKIP, while the BNP gained its first seats in Brussels.
