Conservative MP Liam Fox has said it is a "great sadness" that the BNP will represent the United Kingdom in Europe.
His comments came after the far-right party claimed its first European Parliament seat in in the Yorkshire and Humber region.
He added that it had been a historically bad night for the Labour Party.
