Rebel warlord Basayev is Russia's most wanted man

In the video, the man dressed in combat fatigues says he is inside an Ingush interior ministry warehouse - and is heard listing weapons in the building.

The video also shows him complaining that the rebels do not have the transport to take them away.

No detail is shown to confirm that the footage was shot inside the warehouse.

In the three-minute recording, the warlord ironically thanks the Ingush government for "preserving our arms and ammunition for us".

"We have taken what they took from us this year," he adds.

String of attacks

About 200 Chechen rebels are thought to have taken part in the co-ordinated attacks on government targets near the main Ingush city of Nazran in June.

At least 92 people were killed, most of them law enforcement officers.

Russia's Interfax news agency quotes the head of Ingushetia's intelligence service (FSB), Sergei Koryakov, as saying the rebel video could "be used as evidence of what happened".

Mr Basayev has in the past claimed responsibility for a string of rebel attacks, including the assassination of Chechen President Akhmad Kadyrov in May.

He has also said he was behind the Moscow theatre siege two years ago, when hundreds of people were taken hostage.
