Emeraude creditors meet
Ferry
Emeraude filed for protection from bankruptcy in October
Companies in Jersey and Guernsey who claim they are still owed money by ferry firm Emeraude have met.

It is believed some companies in the Channel Islands are still owed many thousands of pounds by Emeraude.

The ferry firm filed for protection from bankruptcy in St Malo in October with debts thought to be in the region of four million euros.

A support group which organised the meeting said many of the claims for money put to the French administrator from businesses in the islands had received little response to date.

Support group spokesman Michael Cottillard, from Tantivy Blue Coach, said the meeting gave companies the chance to meet and discuss how much they were owed.

The meeting took place at the Pomme D'Or Hotel.

French firm Sogestran took over Emeraude in November after the ferry business filed for protection from bankruptcy.
