Kitesurfer blamed
A prominent windsurfer in Guernsey has hit back at claims a boardsailer went dangerously close to swimmers in Ladies Bay.

Terry Nash, president of the Guernsey Board Sailing Association, said the incident involved a kitesurfer, an activity that does not come within the rules and regulations of the GBSA.

Mr Nash says the island's bays are used for many activities and there was more that could be done to make the water safer for all.

He said: "I think the Board of Administration should put up supplementary warning signs on the beach.

"If people persist in swimming in the launching channels when windsurfing is going on, they do so at their own risk."
