Battle of Britain display cash plea
Red Arrows
The display needs at least an extra 40,000 to continue
Jersey finance houses and law firms are to be asked to give more money towards the Battle of Britain air display next year.

The display's finance co-ordinator says big establishments are not doing enough to help an event which benefits the whole island.

Deputy Sarah Ferguson claims several large companies in Jersey hold corporate events during Battle of Britain week, especially during the display itself.

And she believes the display plays a vital role in attracting visitors and bringing in extra money to the island.

The display is short of sponsorship, and needs at least an extra 40,000 to continue in its current form.

Deputy Ferguson said only a small number of finance groups or law businesses made any donation towards the display or the Royal Air Force Association appeal.

She said corporate packages, including VIP lunches and the chance to attend the pre-flight briefing on display day would be offered to firms.
