Voters reminded to register
Ballot Box
People can register to vote at their parish hall
People in Jersey who are eligible to vote in elections but who have not registered are being reminded of their duty to do so.

The authorities are again highlighting the legal requirement of islanders to make a sure they are on the electoral roll.

The timing of the campaign is unusual as they usually happen ahead of island-wide elections.

But people can apply to be registered at their parish hall at any time.

During 2002's Senatorial and Deputy elections, many islanders went to polling stations to vote only to find they were not registered.

Constable John Germain said people should check with their parish that they are on the roll.

He said many think they are but have not completed the necessary application form.
