Police search for landmark vandals
Graffiti on church
Parishioners have condemned the attack on Vale Church
Police are still hunting vandals responsible for daubing two Guernsey landmarks with graffiti.

Four separate areas of Vale Church were daubed with graffiti and some graves were damaged.

The Millennium Stone at L'Ancresse was also targeted and sprayed with a graffiti message.

Detectives are investigating whether the attacks, which were both discovered on Thursday, are linked.

Pre-planned attack

At Vale Church, the words "this used to be God's house - but he moved" were sprayed in black paint on the church door, one of the walls and a window.

The rector of the church, Father Kevin Northover, said he thought it may have been a pre-planned attack because the writing was sprayed onto the walls with a stencil.

Marble on some of the graves was also pushed during the attack - an act which brought condemnation from parishioners.

Father Northover said: "People have been very shocked and upset to hear about it."

The Millennium Stone had the words "This is not a photo opportunity" stencilled across it when it suffered a similar attack.
