The Arts Committee received approval to go ahead with its report |
Guernsey's States will not be meeting on Thursday after managing to discuss the seven items in the June Billet in one day. The Housing Authority had some strong opposition to its attempt to extend the tent dwellers regulations to include all industries.
People working in the horticulture, tourism or fish farming industries can still live in tents without the need for a housing licence.
But the move to open up the regulation to all industries was annulled, with the main concern a lack of background checks.
Unanimous support
In question time, the main topic of discussion was Concept and the airport development.
The president of the Board of Administration, Deputy Roger Berry, said it was encouraging local contractors to join a UK legal action in an attempt to retrieve money owed to them.
Meanwhile, Guernsey's Arts secured unanimous support.
Its committee received approval for a report looking at every aspect of the island's arts.
And a requete to ensure all islanders the same number of votes in future elections was rejected following a guillotine motion, ending the day's debate.
