Call to ban street drinking
A call has been made to ban drinking on pavements and roadways in Guernsey.

Its come from Deputy Mike Best, at the beginning of the June States on Wednesday.

Such a ban is already in place in Alderney.

Home Affairs President, Deputy Mike Torode, said the measure had earlier been rejected as it was seen as too difficult to police.

But he said his committee would like to see voluntary restrictions on alcohol sales on Liberation Day, which marks the end of German occupation in World War II.
