Bus subsidies revealed
Jersey bus
Connex is subsidised for running less busy routes
Taxpayers in Jersey will find out how much they are subsiding the island's bus service.

A report on Connex's first six months is to be presented to the States on Tuesday.

There was a lot of argument over how much Connex should be subsidised to run the bus service in Jersey.

The authorities ruled the company should be helped to keep the less busy routes running.

Tax questions

States members will hear how Connex has progressed since its introduction, including details on how much money the company has made, and how much it costs in subsidies.

Senator Ted Vibert is following this later in the sitting with a question to the head of the environment and public services committee regarding the service.

He is also asking questions about tax receipts from Jersey residents and about personal savings after the introduction of a ministerial government.

Deputy Southern is also asking a number of questions including one aimed at Deputy Terry Le Main about his presidency of the housing committee.
