Islanders to have say over milk
Milk cartons
It is hoped the results of the survey will shape future decisions
People in Jersey are being urged to have their say about the future of the island's dairy industry.

Every home is being sent a questionnaire from Jersey's Consumer Council.

Islanders are being asked a number of questions including how much milk they drink, the price of milk, whether it should be imported, the importance of the island herd and school milk.

The survey is included in the latest Consumer Council newsletter.

The group's chairman Deputy Alan Breckon says people feel strongly about Jersey cows and their milk but some are concerned by cost.

It is hoped the results of the survey will help to influence future States decisions about the dairy industry.

Students from Jerseys Les Quennevais and Le Rocquier secondary schools will be carrying out an on-street poll and people can also respond on the Consumer Council's website.
