Bus competition hots up
Another new bus service has appeared in Jersey.

Easylink Coach Tours are part of the Diamond Group which owns Tantivy Blue Coach, Jerseybus and several of the island's tourist attractions.

Fares undercut the States-appointed service Connex.

Easylink says the new service is just an extension of its existing services.

But public servants have been spending the weekend studying the law.

They have to decide if a service like Easylink can be run under its current licence, or if it constitutes a bus service.

Ian Everson of Jersey Bus Users Forum, said: "Any revenue that is sapped from people choosing to use the Easylink service, rather than the Connex bus service, is a loss of revenue to public services."
