A surge of water moving down the Vltava river has now hit central Prague  River defences have been erected in parts of the city  Waters roar through the Slapy dam upstream from the city  The River Club is now in the river, rather than on the river bank...  ... and only the roof of a restaurant next to the 14th Century Charles Bridge is now visible  The bridge - a Prague landmark adorned with statues - is closed to the public  Defences are readied on Kampa Island  Overnight volunteers helped prepare sandbags to protect the island | |
