Bobby Davro lost out to The Bill actor Gary Lucy |
Comedian and actor Bobby Davro has become the second celebrity to be voted off ITV1's Dancing on Ice. The 50-year-old found himself in the bottom with Gary Lucy, from soap opera The Bill, after skating to George Harrison's I've Got My Mind Set On You. But the judges unanimously chose to save Lucy over the pantomime regular, based on technical ability. "Obviously, I'm disappointed. You've got to be the best skater to win this show - I tried my best," Davro said. Judge Nicky Slater said the star's skating skills "need development", but added he would "miss having a great entertainer on the show". After performing in the skate-off, Davro joked: "It's all about the journey. If mine ends now, fortunately I didn't end up in an ambulance." Judge Jason Gardiner branded Lucy's initial performance "incredibly polite" but "dull". The actor said he enjoyed skating the second time around to save his place in the competition and joked: "I'll have a go at my mates for not voting, they are probably all down the pub." The second show of the series saw the seven male contestants compete for the first time. Former pop star Sinitta was the first to leave the show last week, after the females made their skating debuts. The six remaining male celebrities in the show are: Boyzone singer Mikey Graham, GMTV's Dr Hilary Jones, Hollyoaks actor Kieron Richardson, actor Jeremy Sheffield, ex-Coronation Street actor Danny Young and Lucy. Their female counterparts are: Charity campaigner Heather Mills, EastEnders actress Daniella Westbrook, actress Emily Atack, Olympic swimmer Sharron Davies, author Tana Ramsay and actress Hayley Tamaddon.
