Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans has revealed his new breakfast show will be 30 minutes longer when he takes over from Sir Terry Wogan next year. The 43-year-old told the BBC News Website he would begin broadcasting at 0700, rather than the current 0730. "Terry had it very easy - no other breakfast show in the world starts at half-past-seven," Evans said. Sir Terry announced last month he would be stepping down from his breakfast slot at the end of the year. Speaking at the launch of his autobiography, It's Not What You Think, Evans said he was not nervous at the prospect of fronting the station's flagship show. "It's not like I've been asked to play football for England - which I can't do," he said. "If I was asked to play tomorrow night then I really would be nervous, but this is what I do for a living so I'm looking forward to it. "It's my job to look after what Terry's left behind so I'll try to do that the best I can." Evans also said he had already begun making preparations for the new show and would be recording some pilot programmes in November before going on air in January. The DJ previously hosted Radio 1's breakfast show, bowing out in January 1997. He has been presenting Radio 2's drive-time show, which runs daily from 1705 to 1900, since April 2006.
