Second chart-topper for Stryder

Stryder's three hit singles have each featured guest vocalists

Tinchy Stryder, the so-called "prince of grime", has scored his second number one single with Never Leave You.

The duet, with Sugababes' star Amelle Berrabah, went straight to the top of the chart, nudging down the Black Eyed Peas' I Gotta Feeling to second place.

Mr Hudson's Supernova held firm at three, while boy band JLS slipped to four with Beat Again and Beyonce rose one place to five with Sweet Dreams.

Michael Jackson retained the number one album with his Essential compilation.

The top four albums remained static - with Florence and The Machine at two, Black Eyed Peas at three and Paolo Nutini at four.

Beyonce's double album I Am... Sasha Fierce, rose from 12 to take fifth place.

Michael Jackson's Bad scored the highest new entry, making its first re-appearance on the countdown since the star's death on 25 June.

Other new entries came from electro-pop singer Frankmusic, at 15, and indie quintet The Twang, at 20.

Tinchy Stryder, real name Kwasi Danquah, has been one of the break-out British successes of 2009.

The 22-year-old Londoner scored his first hit, Take Me Back, in January, following it up with a number one - appropriately titled Number One - in May.

His style is a combination of hip-hop, garage and R&B - and Stryder is significantly more commercial than many other grime artists.

However, he has never had a solo chart credit - having shared vocal duties with a guest artist on each of his singles.

Aside from his chart-topper, there were only three new singles in this week's top 40.

Dancefloor favourite Get Shaky, by the Ian Carey Project, landed at 10, while new girl band Girls Can't Catch made it to 26 with Keep Your Head Up.

Pop star Pink also scored a new entry with the title track to her fifth LP, Funhouse, at 29.

The highest climber was BBC Sound of 2009 winner Little Boots, whose second single, Remedy, jumped from 33 to 14.
