In the past, relations between the two brothers have been tempestuous |
Noel Gallagher has called his brother "hilarious but quite undignified" after Liam told fans to stop clapping at a recent concert in Coventry. During Oasis' performance at the Ricoh Arena, Noel said Liam shouted at the crowd of 50,000, who had their hands in the air, to "get their hands down". On Thursday, Noel told BBC Radio 1: "That's nice, you pay £70 for a ticket to be told what to do by the singer." Noel told DJ Chris Moyles he was "quite angry about it" following the gig. During the band's performance of the song The Shock Of The Lightening, Liam told the crowd not to clap in time to the music. He added: "This is Oasis, not Simple Minds." | Can I just categorically say no-one is getting their money back |
Noel wrote about the incident on his blog, where he has started referring to his younger brother as 'Bruno' - because he has recently unveiled his own clothing line. "'Bruno' seemed determined, and I mean determined, that no one, and I mean no one, was gonna enjoy themselves. "Very strange. Y'can't keep the kids down though." Sound failure The Coventry gig formed part of Oasis' UK stadium tour, which arrived at Wembley Stadium on Thursday. But the band's first concert at the London venue was beset by sound problems. Noel was seen on stage shaking his head, as the sound failed during Wonderwall - one of the group's biggest hits - and the crowd helped finish the song for them. Thousands of fans demanded their money back after technical problems at the band's homecoming gig in Heaton Park, Manchester last month, but Noel told fans at Wembley not to bother asking for a refund. "Can I just categorically say no-one is getting their money back," he told the audience on Thursday.
