The Killers and Oasis have both had a chart topping album over the last year |
The Killers and Oasis will be the headline acts at this summer's V Festival, leading a line-up which organisers are calling "eclectic". Other acts on the bill include The Specials, Fatboy Slim, Razorlight, Snow Patrol, Keane and Elbow. The Ting Tings, MGMT and Lady GaGa are also due to play at the event's twin sites, Hylands Park in Chelmsford and Weston Park in Staffordshire. Tickets go on sale on Friday morning for the festival, on 22 and 23 August. Organisers are advising people to purchase their tickets from the V Festival website. Pete Doherty is also confirmed to play at this year's event. Festival director Bob Angus said: "We're genuinely thrilled to have such an eclectic line-up this year. "Our headliners are two of the biggest acts in music today and with them being joined by some really exuberant newcomers, this summer's V Festival is set to give festival fans something to shout about. Last year 150,000 people turned out at both sites for the festival, which was headlined by Amy Winehouse, Muse and The Verve. The festival is now its 14th year. The Killers have appeared at V twice before, in 2004 and as headliners in 2007. Oasis have also headlined previously at V, topping the bill in 2005.
