Susan Boyle has taken rest days due to the stress of being in the spotlight

Britain's Got Talent star Susan Boyle has made a triumphant return to the stage after missing four concerts this week on the talent show's live tour.

The 48-year-old singer received a standing ovation when she appeared at Wembley Arena, in north-west London.

She sang I Dreamed A Dream from the musical Les Miserables, which brought her international fame when she first performed it on the ITV1 show.

She missed shows in Liverpool, Cardiff, Nottingham and Manchester over stress.

'On their feet'

A spokeswoman for the show said the crowd were "on their feet for her" as well as for the TV show's winners, the dance group Diversity.

Boyle also sang her semi-final tune Memory from the musical Cats, during the course of her two performances at Wembley.

The church worker from Blackburn, West Lothian, was taken to the Priory Clinic in London hours after she was beaten by Diversity.

Judge Piers Morgan said she had been emotionally drained and exhausted, and Simon Cowell admitted she had found it difficult to deal with the stress.

Millions of people worldwide have watched her TV performances on the internet, and film star Demi Moore and singer Elaine Paige are among her celebrity fans.

The Britain's Got Talent live tour ends in Bournemouth International Centre on 5 July.

There are 12 more shows at venues in Aberdeen, Birmingham, Coventry, London, Dublin, Belfast, Cardiff and Bournemouth.
