Another Apprentice given the boot

Lastest casualty of the boardroom Howard Ebison talks about why he was fired.

Apprentice hopeful Howard Ebison has become the latest candidate to be fired from the show by Sir Alan Sugar.

The 24-year-old was given the axe after project managing the losing side in a shopping channel task.

Ebison was accused of not taking enough risks, while Sir Alan said: "I haven't got time for just ordinary people."

The retail manager from Derby said some of his rivals had behaved "appallingly" and tipped team-mate Kate Walsh to win the entire series.

'Big risk'

He claimed she had been his biggest competition on the show.

His opinion of this other colleague Lorraine Tighe was less favourable, saying that Sir Alan has taken a "big risk" by putting her through to the final interview stages of the shows.

The unsuccessful candidate also said he was fond of Debra Barr, who would not allow him to project manage earlier in the series.

"I don't think she makes the best first impression but she really wins you over very quickly and effortlessly," he said.

Ebison, whose team had lost their task by just £200, said his experience on the show had encouraged him to be bolder in his business decisions.

"If I only take one thing from The Apprentice, it's that I need to think twice - am I being too cautious when making decisions?"

But he added: "I've returned to my original employer - not that maverick!"

The latest exit leaves Debra Barr, Kate Walsh, James McQuillan, Lorraine Tighe and Yasmina Siadatan still in the running for the prize job with Sir Alan.
