Canine drama Marley and Me has topped the UK box office for a second week, taking £2.1m in ticket sales. The family film starring Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson, equalled its US box office success and saw off competition from three new releases. Paul Blart: Mall Cop made its debut in second place with £1.29m in sales. The Kevin James comedy topped the US box office on its release. It pushed another new opener, the spy film Duplicity, into third place. The film earned a fraction more than the week's other big release, Lesbian Vampire Killers, which took the number four slot. It made £646,804 at the box office. In fifth place was graphic novel adaptation Watchmen, which fell from second place in last week's chart after being top of the box office on its release. Watchmen's producers have commented that the film has "tremendous staying power". The film took another £594, 510 in the UK this week. Oscar-winner Slumdog Millionaire dropped out of the top five for the first time since its release 11 weeks ago. It took the seventh slot with £416,356 in sales.
