Superhero film Watchmen has leapt straight to the top of the UK and Ireland box office. The comic book adaptation, about a team of flawed superheroes, knocked Slumdog Millionaire off the top slot, after taking �3.2m in its opening weekend. In third place was Clint Eastwood's Gran Torino, at number four was computer-animated film Bolt and Confessions of a Shopaholic was fifth. The only other new release in the top 10 was The Young Victoria. The movie, starring Emily Blunt as Queen Victoria, made its debut in sixth place after taking �928,307 in its first weekend. Horror movie The Unborn fell four places to number seven and family comedy Hotel For Dogs followed in eighth place. In its second week of release, Clive Owen's movie The International was in ninth place and romantic comedy He's Just Not That Into You rounded off the top 10.
