Brook shot to fame in Channel 4 show The Big Breakfast |
Model and actress Kelly Brook is to join the judging panel of Britain's Got Talent, ITV has announced. Brook will join Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden as a judge for the third series of the talent show this spring. Cowell said the 29-year-old, who has been starring in West End play Fat Pig, had "absolutely no idea what she's let herself in for". Brook said she had been "a huge fan" of the show since its first series. | Simon has promised me some wild acts which I can't wait to see |
The move follows the successful addition of Cheryl Cole as an extra judge in the last series of Cowell's other major UK TV project, The X Factor. Brook, who trained at London's Italia Conti stage school, said: "With my dance background, I cannot wait to see the dancers. "Simon has promised me some wild acts which I can't wait to see." ITV's director of television Peter Fincham said: "I'm delighted that Kelly is joining the team and I'm thrilled that, along with Amanda Holden, she will not only bring wit, glamour and an honest critique to this great show, she'll also keep Piers and Simon on their toes." Teenage breakdancer George Sampson won the second series of the show, presented by Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly, in May. His prize was 100,000 as well as a slot at the Royal Variety Performance in December. Since winning, he has also appeared in hip-hop musical Into the Hoods and released a single at the end of November.
