Bafta glory for Channel 4's Boy A

Andrew Garfield won a best actor Bafta for Boy A last month

Channel 4 drama Boy A has won three Bafta Craft Awards, which celebrate the work of those behind the scenes of TV shows.

The programme was recognised for the quality of lighting and photography, its editing, and it scooped a best director award for John Crowley.

There were also two Baftas for BBC One period drama Cranford.

This year's Special Award honoured writing duo David Croft and Jimmy Perry, whose work includes Dad's Army.

Three other costume dramas claimed victory this year. The Bafta for best make-up and hair was awarded to ITV's My Boy Jack, the costume design category was won by Oliver Twist, while Capturing Mary won best original TV music.

Cranford had been nominated for seven craft awards

Doctor Who's Steven Moffat claimed victory in the writer category and Fight For Life saw Jellyfish Pictures triumph in the visual effects category.

Other winners included Jezza Neumann, who collected two craft awards for his undercover investigation into the theft of children for China's Stolen Children.

Channel 4's Skins won two awards - best titles and the interactive creative contribution - while the interactive innovation award went to Spooks Interactive.

Parallel Worlds, Parallel Lives, which followed the lead singer of rock band Eels on his journey of discovery across the US, won an editing award .
