Cyrus returns after photo furore

Disney's singing and acting star Miley Cyrus has returned to the stage after a furore over her Vanity Fair photoshoot.

The 15-year-old star of Hannah Montana performed several songs at Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

Controversy flared after photos showed her apparently topless, draped in a sheet and looking dishevelled.

She cancelled an appearance at a red carpet party before the concert, which will be included in the Disney Channel Games series on the Disney Channel.

Cyrus did not refer to the photos on stage. She did spot a sign in the crowd saying "Miley I'm praying for you", and responded: "I can't be more appreciative of that."

Apology

She previously released a statement saying she felt "so embarrassed" after taking part in the session with photographer Annie Leibovitz, which was "supposed to be 'artistic'".

"I apologise to my fans who I care so deeply about," she said.

In Hannah Montana, Cyrus plays a girl who leads a double life as a teenager and a pop star.

Her father, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, also plays her father in the show.
