The couple have a seven-year-old son together |
Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher has married his long-term partner, the ex-All Saints singer Nicole Appleton. The couple, who have been together for eight years, tied the knot at a civil ceremony in London on Valentine's Day.
The venue, Westminster Register Office, was where Gallagher married his first wife, Patsy Kensit, in 1997.
Appleton's sister Natalie and her husband Liam Howlett, of The Prodigy, attended the ceremony. Gallagher's brother Noel was absent, however.
It is thought Noel is currently in Los Angeles.
Appleton's former bandmates Melanie Blatt and Shaznay Lewis were also present at Thursday's ceremony.
Taming attitudes
Appleton, 33, has often spoken about wanting to marry her rock star boyfriend since they got engaged in 2002.
"Marriage is important to me and I love the idea of being married," she said earlier this year.
Kensit and Gallagher split after three years of marriage |
She is credited with taming the singer's notorious hard drinking and his abrasive attitude.
The couple have a seven-year-old son, Gene.
Gallagher also had a son - Lennon, eight - with Kensit, and has a nine-year-old daughter Molly with singer Lisa Moorish.
His marriage to Kensit lasted three years and they divorced in 2000 after she cited unreasonable behaviour.
Before the pair met, Appleton had been engaged to pop star Robbie Williams.
Oasis were at the forefront of the Britpop movement in the 1990s and Gallagher remains one of the most recognisable stars of modern British music.
