Amy says her ambition is to be a television presenter |
Glamour model Amy Alexandra has been booted out of Big Brother after just two weeks on the programme. The 21-year-old buried her head in her hands as her name was read out, before snapping: "I'm fine - everyone stop staring at me like my head fell off."
She had been the favourite to be voted out of the Big Brother house in the reality TV show's ninth eviction.
Bookmakers Ladbrokes said just 50 had been staked on her rivals, Kara-Louise Horn, Jonty Stern and the twins.
The 21-year-old had odds of 1/20, compared to 200/1 for the twins, Sam and Amanda Marchant, who face eviction as one person.
Housemates had accused the aspiring TV presenter of flirting with fellow contestant Liam McGough to further her career outside the show.
"It's part of her job to create publicity about herself," said Gerry Stergiopolous during nominations earlier this week.
"Thus it makes me very suspicious that she attaches herself to Liam from the start."
"I think she came in with a very specific agenda and she was probably prepared to do anything," said HIV worker Carole Vincent.
Separate compound
Sam and Amanda, who are among the favourites to take home the show's 100,000 prize, chose to face eviction together after being told they could either be treated as one person or must pick one twin to face the public vote.
All of the other nominees were introduced to the programme last week, after spending time in a separate compound.
Last week, two other "halfway" housemates were evicted by public vote.
Currently 19-year-old data entry clerk Brian Belo is the bookmakers' favourite to win the show.
Despite a strong start, audience figures for the current series have slumped to their lowest level since the reality programme launched eight years ago.
