Donald Trump uses the catchphrase "you're fired" on his show |
Entrepreneur Donald Trump is hoping a celebrity line-up will appear in the next US series of The Apprentice. Despite NBC originally leaving the show out of its autumn schedule, it has now revealed it will return with a twist.
The winner will donate any profits made during the series to charity, instead of the usual prize of a contract to work for Trump.
The show was a huge success when it launched in 2004, but ratings have been slipping for recent seasons.
US TV host Rosie O'Donnell has been approached to appear but her spokeswoman said it would "never happen in this lifetime or beyond".
Trump and O'Donnell spectacularly fell out and have since feuded through various TV appearances.
NBC's entertainment chief Ben Silverman said: "It would be great to have Rosie on The Apprentice. Donald personally told me to extend an invitation to her."
Last year British graduate Sean Yazbeck won the reality TV business show, which sees aspiring entrepreneurs battle to win a place in Trump's company.
The hit UK version is fronted by Amstrad boss Sir Alan Sugar.
