 | Baldwin is not currently seeking representation from anyone else |
Actor Alec Baldwin has parted ways with his agent, days after an angry phone message he left his daughter was released to the public. His publicist Matthew Hiltzik denied there was a link between the actor leaving Creative Artists Agency (CAA) and his recent controversy.
Mr Hiltzik said the decision was purely a "personal matter".
Baldwin has since apologised for calling his 11-year-old child Ireland a "rude, thoughtless little pig".
During Baldwin's time with CAA, the actor has had roles in critically acclaimed films such as The Cooler, The Departed and The Good Shepherd.
Baldwin has been temporarily banned from seeing his daughter |
Mr Hiltzik said the actor, who is currently starring in the popular television comedy 30 Rock, was not immediately looking for another agency. CAA continues to represent Baldwin's ex-wife Kim Basinger, who he blamed for releasing the voicemail message.
The Oscar-winning actress denied leaking the recording and has since hired a bodyguard for their daughter.
The couple have been locked in a long and bitter legal battle over access to the child since they split in 2000.
A Los Angeles judge has temporarily banned Baldwin from seeing his daughter, until a hearing on 4 May.
Meanwhile, a separate court hearing has been set for June to determine how the tape was released to the media.
