Mary and Scott Weiland have two small children |
The wife of Velvet Revolver singer Scott Weiland has been arrested on suspicion of burning his $10,000 (5,000) wardrobe outside their home. Mary Weiland, 31, could face arson and vandalism charges after police in southern California found a bin of smouldering clothes on Saturday night.
Earlier that day, the couple left two rooms vandalised after an argument at a luxury hotel, police said.
She has been released on $50,000 (25,000) bail, according to Reuters.
Ms Weiland voluntarily went to the police station to give a statement, while the couple's two young children were put in the care of family friends.
'Deliberately destroyed'
It is thought the damage to the hotel rooms exceeded $400 (200).
"Both rooms had damage and items scattered, broken plates and things. It was looking definitely like items were deliberately destroyed," California police officer Sergeant Mathew Ferguson said.
Scott Weiland gained fame in the 1990s with the rock band Stone Temple Pilots, whose hits included Plush and Vasoline.
He formed Velvet Revolver in 2002 with three former members of Guns N' Roses and the group scored a US number one with their debut album.
