French issue Harry Potter stamps
The stamps are for domestic and international letters

Boy wizard Harry Potter is going Gallic by appearing on a set of French of stamps and stationery.

From 17 March, Harry - decked out in Hogwarts uniform - will be on stamps for domestic priority mail.

His friend Ron Weasley appears on stamps for slow domestic mail, while Hermione Granger's image is used for international mail.

The seventh and final book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, will be published 21 July.

Four hit movies have been adapted from the Potter books. The fifth instalment, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, is scheduled for release 13 July.

France is not the first country to put Harry Potter on a stamp. Australia, the Isle of Man and Taiwan are among those who have issued stamps honouring the hero of JK Rowling's books.
