Isle of Wight's line-up revealed
Muse
BBC Radio 2 listeners voted Muse best British live act
Muse and Snow Patrol are to headline this year's Isle of Wight Festival.

Snow Patrol will perform on 8 June at the Newport event, while Muse - named best British live act at the Brit Awards - will close the next night.

The headliner for the Sunday night is yet to be confirmed, but other acts lined up include recent Brits winners James Morrison and Amy Winehouse.

Keane, Kasabian, Ash and The Fratellis are also due to perform. Festival tickets go on sale on Thursday.

A statement from Devon rockers Muse said: "Some of our biggest heroes played the festival back in the 1970s.

"It's steeped in history and we can't wait to be a part of that."

The island staged legendary festivals from 1968 to 1970, which included performances by artists including Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix and The Who.

But crowd trouble in 1970 made it the last festival for more than 30 years. The event was resurrected in 2002.
