Magazine rates Crazy 'best song'
Cee-Lo of Gnarls Barkley
Crazy was the first UK number one to top the chart on downloads alone
Gnarls Barkley's chart-topping hit Crazy has been named as the best track of 2006 by Rolling Stone magazine.

And Bob Dylan's first full release in five years, Modern Times, was the year's top album, the publication said.

It called Crazy an "instant classic" that "everybody tried to cover" but which only singer Cee-Lo could do well.

Steady As She Goes by The Raconteurs, a group formed by Jack White of The White Stripes and guitarist Brendan Benson, was considered the number two song.

It was "a perfect dirty sundae of fuzz-box stutter, metallic zoom and pop-chorale candy," Rolling Stone said.

Hip-hop tracks by Chamillionaire and TI - Ridin' and What You Know - were listed at numbers three and four respectively.

And Vans, a song about trainers by a group called The Pack, made number five on its chart.

Further down the top 10 were Dylan's track Thunder on the Mountain, and Smile by British singer Lily Allen, which was described as the year's "most gloriously bitter break-up song".

Australian rock group Wolfmother also made the top 10 with Dimension, as did Goldfrapp's Ooh La La.

This was "the kind of groovy dance number Kylie used to write," the magazine added.
