Scotland's T in the Park has scooped the best major festival title for the second year running at the 2006 UK Festival Awards. The event, which took place near Kinross in July, won the honour with the votes of festival fans.
Promoter Geoff Ellis told BBC Radio 1: "Every band tells me that T in the Park is the best festival in the world."
The Bestival music event, which is held on the Isle of Wight, took the best medium-to-large festival award.
Leicester's Summer Sundae Weekender won the award for best small festival.
Fan-friendly festival
Mr Ellis added: "I have to say I think T in the Park has the most passionate audience in the world, and that's what makes the bands give a lot more when they're on stage."
The Who and The Red Hot Chilli Peppers were among the top acts to perform at this year's event.
Surrey's Guilfest was named the family festival and the one-day festival award went to Monsters of Rock, which is held in Milton Keynes.

Lovebox Weekender, which takes place in London's Victoria Park, beat Bestival and Creamfields to win the title of party people award for dance music.
Devon's Beautiful Days won the grassroots festival award while the fan friendly festival honour went to the Isle of Skye Festival.
The new festival award went to Wiltshire's End of the Road Festival.
Muse scooped two awards, for best headline act and best rock act.
Girl group Girls Aloud were the fans' top festival pop act, the Prodigy won the dance prize for the second year running and The Streets took best urban act.
Primal Scream beat Beck and The Flaming Lips to the title of best feel-good act, while The Kooks took the title of best breakthrough.
