Kasabian lined up for Proms gig
Kasabian
Kasabian will perform tracks from their albums Kasabian and Empire
Kasabian are to play live with an orchestra at the BBC Electric Proms festival next month.

The band will join the BBC Concert Orchestra to perform re-workings of tracks from their two albums at the Roundhouse, in London, on 28 October.

Mercury award nominees Guillemots are also on the bill.

The five-day rock and pop festival will also include BBC Radio 1's Peel Night, featuring The Horrors, Squarepusher and The Raconteurs.

Other bands and musicians already confirmed for the event include Fatboy Slim, who will perform at a secret venue, singer James Brown and Jamiroquai.

The Who will also give a one-off premiere of their rock opera Wire And Glass.

All of the artists performing at the festival have been challenged to come up with something innovative for their performance, that reflects the ambition of the inaugural event.

The Proms will be featured extensively on BBC TV and radio.
