Aguilera's album makes No 1 debut

Back to Basics is Christina Aguilera's third album
US singer Christina Aguilera's third album, Back To Basics, has made its UK chart debut at number one.

The album, which is more soul and jazz-influenced than its predecessors, is the 25-year-old's first to reach the top of the British countdown.

In the singles chart, Colombian pop star Shakira is enjoying her fourth week at number one with Hips Don't Lie.

Arctic Monkeys have the highest new entry in the singles chart, at No 4 with Leave Before The Lights Come On.

Chamillionaire is at number two with Ridin', while David Guetta vs The Egg are at number three with Love Don't Let Me Go (Walking Away).

In the album chart, James Morrison's Undiscovered falls to number two, while Snow Patrol drop to number three with Eyes Open.

Albums by Orson and Kooks are at numbers four and five in the chart.
