Abbey Road to host music series
Paul Simon
Paul Simon is to appear in the new Channel 4 series
The Who, Paul Simon and Massive Attack are to appear in a Channel 4 music series to be filmed at the London studios made famous by the Beatles.

The 12 editions of Live From Abbey Road will each feature three acts, who will play three songs in total.

Other artists confirmed include Diana Ross, Richard Ashcroft, The Killers and LeAnn Rimes.

There will be neither an audience nor a presenter, and those taking part will receive a day to record their material.

"It's a show really produced by musicians, and they're in their creative home of the recording studio," series producer Michael Gleason told Music Week magazine.

Musician and record producer Peter Van Hooke will be in the studio's control room for each session but acts will also be able to bring their own sound engineers.

Recording has already begun, with the final programmes expected to be broadcast from November on Channel 4 and its digital service More4.

Dr John, Dave Matthews, Goo Goo Dolls and the Gypsy Kings are among those who have already spent time at Abbey Road.
