 Double success for Extras' Ashley Jensen and Ricky Gervais |
Ricky Gervais's sitcom Extras was the toast of the prestigious Rose d'Or TV awards with two key prizes. The BBC comedy won awards for best sitcom and Ashley Jensen won best sitcom actress.
The show's co-creator and star Ricky Gervais was not nominated but he did pick up an honorary award for his contribution to entertainment.
Other winners included QI's Stephen Fry, for best game show host, and Deal or No Deal for best game show.
The ceremony was held in Lucerne in Switzerland.
Jo Joyner from Five's Swinging was awarded best female comedy performance while Chris Lilley from The Nominees on ABC picked up the Rose d'Or for best male comedy performance.
The best soap actor prize went to US star Jack Wagner for The Bold and the Beautiful while best soap actress was won by German star Alexandra Neldel for her role in Verliebt in Berlin.
Other programme winners from the UK include The Apprentice (best reality show), Look Around You (best comedy) and The Friday Night Project (best variety).
Bastian Pastewka won the best sitcom actor award for his role in German comedy Pastewka.
