Singer Pete Doherty has failed to turn up at court for a review of his drug rehabilitation, blaming concert commitments in Germany.

The singer, 27, of Hackney, east London, was due in court as part of a 12-month community order imposed in February for drug possession.

But Thames Magistrates Court in London was told the Babyshambles frontman was performing in Berlin and Hamburg.

The case was adjourned until 9 June, when the order will be reviewed again.

Check-ups

Last month, Mr Doherty missed a similar hearing after being delayed in France following a concert in Paris.

His year-long drug rehabilitation programme requires him to attend a drug centre and have monthly check-ups.

It was imposed by Ealing Magistrates' Court in February after he pleaded for guilty to seven charges of possessing illegal substances at three separate court appearances.

He was warned he could face jail if he breached the order.
