Irish actor Colin Farrell is suing a former girlfriend for allegedly trying to sell a tape of them having sex. Farrell, 29, said he and former Playboy playmate Nicole Narain, 31, had made the tape two and a half years ago.
Farrell is seeking damages, as well as a temporary restraining order and an injunction prohibiting the sale and distribution of the videotape.
His case said they agreed the tape was "highly private and confidential". Ms Narain was unavailable for comment.
The legal action, filed at Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday, also names Paul Nash of Internet Commerce Group - an online pornography company - as a defendant in the case.
The case said the defendants' "outrageous attempt to capitalise on the celebrity of Colin Farrell... exceeds all bounds of common human decency".
It said the tape would irreparably harm the actor's reputation and career.
Farrell will next be seen in period drama The New World and the film version of TV show Miami Vice.
His picture appears on Ms Narain's website alongside three short press articles about the tape.
