Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras have performed without Luciano Pavarotti at a Three Tenors concert in Mexico. Pavarotti pulled out of Saturday's show in Monterrey on doctor's advice after contracting laryngitis.
More than 40,000 people watched the show, which saw Domingo and Carreras joined on stage by Mexican singer Alejandro Fernandez.
But the concert was interrupted at times with chants of "fraud!" by people who had been left without seats.
Traditional songs
Pavarotti, 69, announced on Thursday he was pulling out of the concert for health reasons.
But it went ahead with the two remaining tenors, Fernandez and two mariachi bands, under the gaze of Mexican President Vicente Fox and Oscar Berger, the president of Guatemala.
Domingo and Carreras opened the concert by singing O Suverain and Core n'grato, but the first standing ovation of the night was given to Fernandez.
He was accompanied by the two mariachi bands and the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon orchestra.
Fernandez was then joined on stage by Domingo and Carreras who came together to sing traditional Mexican ballads and mariachi songs.
