 Ramsay's F Word saw six turkeys slaughtered for Christmas |
TV chefs Gordon Ramsay and Jamie Oliver have been cleared by the television regulator for featuring the slaughter of animals on their shows. Viewers had complained to Ofcom about an episode of Jamie's Kitchen in which he killed a lamb.
On the F Word, six turkeys reared by Ramsay were killed by a slaughterman.
A total of 57 complaints were received between the programmes but Ofcom found both Channel 4 shows handled the slaughters responsibly.
On Jamie's Great Escape, Oliver travelled to an Italian farm where he was asked to choose a lamb that would be cooked for dinner.
Ofcom's report said: "It was clear from the programme that the presenter found it emotionally difficult to carry out his task but the lamb did not struggle or make any distressing noises."
It said that during footage of turkeys being slaughtered on the F Word there were "no unduly distressing scenes".
