X Factor's Shayne holds No 1 spot
Shayne Ward
Shayne Ward, 21, was the victor in the ITV1 reality show X Factor
X Factor winner Shayne Ward stayed on top of the singles chart for a second week to be the New Year number one.

The 21-year-old Mancunian's song That's My Goal topped the chart at Christmas just four days after going on sale following his win on the TV show.

Previously-unknown folk-pop duo Nizlopi stayed at number two with The JCB Song.

Madonna climbed five places to three with Hung Up, Eminem was up one place to four with When I'm Gone. The Pogues' Fairytale of New York slipped to five.

Album success

There was only one new entry this week - Cash Machine from Hard-Fi at number 14.

But there were several re-entries including the Sugababes' Push The Button at 19 and rapper Kanye West featuring Jamie Foxx at 29 with Gold Digger.

In the album charts, Eminem's compilation, Curtain Call - the Hits, hung on to the top spot, and James Blunt's Back to Bedlam stayed at number two.

Kelly Clarkson rose five places to three with Breakaway, and up 29 places to four were Hard-Fi with Stars of CCTV. Robbie Williams had a re-entry at number five with his Greatest Hits.
