Comic Vic Reeves has been dropped from TV advertisements for car insurance after being involved in a crash which resulted in drink-driving charges. The 46-year-old has asked questions of the nodding bulldog in the Churchill campaign for five years.
A spokesman for the company said it took road safety "very seriously" and decided to withdraw the advert.
He was arrested and charged with drink driving and leaving the scene of an accident after Friday's crash in Kent.
'Extremely concerned'
The comedian's vintage Jaguar ploughed into a stationary car in Maidstone, careering into a bank and hitting a fence.
He is due to appear before magistrates in the town on 7 April.
A spokesman for Churchill said the firm, based in Bromley, south London, was "extremely concerned" when it heard about the incident, and planned to "fully review the situation".
His comedy partner Bob Mortimer also took part in the advertising campaign.
Vic Reeves - whose real name is Jim Moir - has most recently been seen on screen in ITV1 reality show I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, in which he was a surprise contestant on the programme, along with wife Nancy Sorrell.
