 Vic Reeves was charged with drink driving |
Comedian Vic Reeves has been arrested and charged following a motoring incident near his rural home. The 46-year-old, whose real name is Jim Moir, was charged with drink driving and leaving the scene of an accident.
The incident, reportedly involving a collision between vehicles, occurred just after 1500 BST on Saturday, on a road in Maidstone, Kent.
The star of Shooting Stars and The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer is now waiting for a court hearing date.
Reeves has also starred in TV motor insurance commercials and appeared in I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!
It is reported that his vintage Jaguar was in collision with another car, careered up a bank and crashed into a fence.
A Kent Police spokesperson said: ""We can confirm that just after 3pm on Saturday a James Moir, born 1959, was charged with driving a vehicle with excess alcohol and failing to stop at the scene of an accident."
