An early work by Pablo Picasso, painted in southern France in 1920, is to be auctioned in Stockholm in November. Guitar and Score on a Pedestal Table, which dates from the artist's Cubist period, will go under the hammer at the city's Auktionsverk on 4 November.
"He was extremely productive, but it is still unusual for a Picasso to get out on the market," said a spokeswoman.
Bidding for the work, which is being sold by an unnamed Swedish collector, will start at 2m kroner (�145,000).
"Then we will see what happens," continued spokeswoman Anna Hamilton. "There will definitely be a large international interest."
Expensive
Picasso was born in Malaga, Spain in 1881 and died in France in 1973 at the age of 91.
His Garcon a la Pipe, which fetched $104m (�58m) in New York in May 2004, holds the record for the most expensive painting ever sold at auction.
The Stockholm event is the latest in a series of Picasso auctions that have taken place this year.
Nine of his paintings, including one of his second wife Jacqueline Roque, went under the hammer in Tokyo in September.
And more than 100 plates, bowls, jugs, tiles and vases by the artist will be sold at Sotheby's in London later this month.
